## Accommodation

- **University dormitory:** yes
- **Dormitory cost:** €374–723
- **Private housing:** €410–615
- **Rent figures describe:** the city of Wien
- **How to apply:** OeAD declared Vienna fully booked for the 2026/27 winter semester: applications for a September start are waitlisted and booking reopens only for move-ins from December 2026. A February start (summer semester) is unaffected. ÖJAB, home4students, WIHAST and STUWO run their own waiting lists and were open for September. OeAD itself names three fallbacks: VETHEIM (opens October 2026), The Fizz Brigittenau and The Social Hub. Expect roughly €1,685 before move-in for a €480 single via OeAD: €35 application, two months deposit, €21 per booked month, first month's rent.
- **Notes:** Five channels serve Vienna: OeAD, ÖJAB, home4students, WIHAST and STUWO. A bed in a shared room runs €289–460, a single room €374–723; the mass entry point is €400–500 for a single. A commercial residence costs about twice a dormitory (€970 vs €480). Prices are the AY 2026/27 rates published by the operators.
