Why this works
- At €7,200 per year, tuition is low by German private-university standards, making it more accessible than many comparable private health schools.
- Medicine and health programmes at a Berlin institution put you inside Germany's largest city and its dense network of clinics, hospitals, and biotech employers.
- Germany's EU diploma is recognised across all 27 member states, giving graduates broad labour-market access beyond Germany itself.
- After graduation, German law allows an 18-month job-seeker visa to find employment, with no need to leave the country.
- During studies, international students may work up to 120 full days or 240 half days per year, supporting living costs in a structured way.
- Berlin's size and international character ease daily life for CIS students, with large Russian- and Ukrainian-speaking communities already present.
What to check
- Public universities in Germany typically charge little or no tuition for non-EU students (except Baden-Württemberg), so €7,200 per year is a real cost premium over the free alternative.
- Before enrolling, non-EU school leavers without a recognised university entrance qualification must usually complete a Studienkolleg bridging programme, adding one year and costs.
- Germany requires proof of funds via a blocked account (Sperrkonto) of approximately €11,904 for a one-year residence permit, which must be secured before the visa is issued.
- Berlin is one of Germany's most expensive rental markets; student accommodation is scarce and finding affordable housing often takes months of active searching.
- Daily life, government offices, and clinical placements in Germany operate predominantly in German, creating a practical language barrier even for English-taught degree holders.
