- Orange Tulip Scholarship NOT available for Belarusian citizens.
- SWIFT completely blocked — financial proof for the long-stay entry visa (MVV) must come from Poland/Lithuania/Georgia non-Belarusian account.
- An applied-sciences university (HBO) is the realistic first step: Nuffic recognises the Belarusian school certificate between HAVO/VWO level.
- Student finance from the Dutch education agency (DUO) is not available.

- Lodging on your ownThere is no collection point for the long-stay entry visa (MVV) in Belarus. The university files entry+residence (TEV) with the immigration service (IND), and the IND names the mission where the visa is collected — for Belarus that is the Dutch embassy in Poland. Processing runs 4–8 weeks, and you subtract that from your start date yourself.

After visa: settling in
- 1Register with the municipality (gemeente) to get your BSN (citizen service number) — needed for a bank account, insurance, a job and a phone contract.
- 2Lock down housing BEFORE you fly: the Amsterdam / Utrecht / Delft / Eindhoven shortage is severe. Never transfer a deposit for a room you haven't seen via a verified party — sight-unseen rental scams are common.
- 3Start with your university housing office, then register on ROOM.nl / DUWO and Studentenwoningweb; for Amsterdam run a parallel search on Student Experience, OurCampus, The Social Hub, Hospi Housing, HousingAnywhere and Kamernet.
- 4Open a Dutch bank account once you have a BSN and address (most webshops and rent payments expect iDEAL / a local IBAN).
- 5If you take a side job alongside study you must switch to Dutch basic health insurance (basisverzekering); a pure full-time student keeps international/travel cover instead.
